BANDANA LUXURY SILK JOUY BRONZE

BANDANA LUXURY SILK JOUY BRONZE

Description

Agnès Hardi presents this small bandana scarf, 50 centimeters square, printed on 67g / m² silk twill. The Jouy motif is the interpretation of a traditional toile de Jouy motif based on flowery palmettes. The Jouy motif is the interpretation of a traditional toile de Jouy motif based on flowery palmettes. Its Bronze variant is predominantly bronze green accented with orange, yellow, and red.

This pattern is part of a collection of scarves with varied patterns and shimmering colors entirely designed by Agnès Hardi. There are geometric patterns, flowers, leaves, old documents, Asian or architectural inspirations. You will find different formats in this collection: the 50 x 50 cm bandana, the 90 x 90 cm square scarf, and the 180 x 90 cm stole.

All the squares, regardless of their size, are printed on 67 grams per square meter silk twill, as well as two stole patterns: Rosko and Vitralo. The stoles of the other patterns are printed on 40/45 grams per square meter cotton voile. The finish of all items printed on silk is a hand-crafted French roll. The finishes of the cotton voile stoles are machine-made flat hems.

Origin of Jouy by Agnès

Everyone knows the “toile de Jouy” sometimes even without knowing its name. Its patterns or its imitations have been around since Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf founded the Jouy-en-Josas factory in 1760.

Ever since, the “toile de Jouy” has been found somewhere in decoration, and we continue to interpret and print the beautiful people from Asia and India or the bucolic-romantic sketches from past centuries.
There is nothing old-fashioned about the Musée de Jouy, and it presents inexhaustible sources of inspiration, like the palmettes, interpreted a thousand times, to which I have become attached.

In 2017, while painting the model of this scarf as a demonstration at the “Salon des Métiers d’Art” in Lens (France), I saw the public’s enthusiastic reaction to this creation and to the other models of scarves on my display. This moment was, certainly, one of the first steps toward the foundation of my brand.
